COLORADO PRESCHOOL PROGRAM
One Way for Pagosa's Children to Enter Kindergarten Ready to Learn!
What is the Colorado Preschool Program?
Colorado General Assembly lawmakers recognize that young children who are in need of language development are at risk of school failure unless they can receive support offered by early childhood care and educational services. They also recognize that parents and community play an important role in every child's life and must be included as part of the program.
Goals & Evaluations
The Colorado Preschool Program is based on the Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education set by the Colorado Department of Education. The Quality Standards are based on development of language skills, cognition, gross and fine motor skills and social skills. Both student progress and educational programs are evaluated by the CPP Council.
Expectations of Parents
1. Parents are asked to participate in classroom activities and two parent / teacher conferences.
2. Parents are asked to participate in Satisfaction Surveys twice a year to continually improve each provider's program.
3. Parents are expected to have their child in attendance except for illness and family emergencies.
